The Ultimate Singers Masterclass Eight Week Course – Confidence Building & Performance

My 8 Week Intensive vocal course is designed to take you from singing at home to singing on stage!!

So many singers I work with have wonderful voices but completely lack the confidence to get up and show us what they have! Over the past few years my focus has been to help singers find their voices and gain the knowledge and confidence to pursue their singing goals. We all have particular hang ups on how we feel about ourselves and our singing but with a push in the right direction anyone can achieve the voice they want!!

My Main aim is to help you build your confidence and learn how to get the most out of your voice! Each week we will focus on building your confidence and preparing for our final gig day (Don’t worry if you think you might not be ready to perform on stage, taking part in the final gig is optional, although we will do our best help you feel ready!) Each week everyone will get the chance to sing selected songs from their repertoire and receive professional feedback and advice on their performance and vocal development as well as learn essential tips and tricks to prepare for performance, to build your voice and how to overcome your self doubt and unhelpful nerves!!

Did you know there are so many aspects which affects our singing. Little habits which we may have developed over the years can drastically change our vocal ability, Including volume, power, range, vocal stability, stamina and tension!
Over the past 15 years I have been studying various vocal methodologies and training approaches and have built a tried and tested easy to access vocal training method to help you build a better voice. The course will be an introduction for some, a refresher for others or a way of updating The Ultimate Singers Masterclass – Introduction to Vocal Technique and Advanced Training for Singers knowledge and help you learn new advancements in vocal development if you have been out of training for a while.

My 8 week course is designed to introduce up to date vocal training ideas and techniques to help you build the voice you want, no matter how you feel your voice needs improving, be it range, power, stability or even if you feel your vocal health struggles I am here to help you get on the right track to build the voice you want!!

This 8 week course will give you the tools, research and information to help you conquer any of your vocal issues!!

How it will run:

Each week we will cover a different topic on vocal technique, Including:

* How to control your Head, Chest, Mix and Belt Voice – How to Sing High and Low or smooth out your bridge
* How to improve your volume and power
* Breathing for Singers
* How to release tension in your voice
* How to build a voice with stability
* What songs and styles suit you individually
* How to look after your voice and recover after illness or excessive singing

The course is designed for singers of all abilities and each singer will have the opportunity to perform (optional) and receive Professional expert technical advice and training on your individual needs!

Bridging the Gap - Extending the Range

A very common issue in singers is the “bridge” or the “break” that part of your voice that seems to lack control, power and stability,  For some, the voice drops out completely and for others it can be an embarrassing part of the voice which slips without warning. Learn how vocal registers can improve your range and vocal flexibility and how to gain control to minimise the problems you have at your vocal bridges, you will learn how and when to use Head Voice (Thin Fold), Chest Voice (Thick Fold), Mix Voice and Belt, how to move between one and the other without obvious “Gear Changes” This is your chance to learn how to safely strengthen and improve your voice through registers!

Breathing for Singers

Breathing is a complex part of singing that even the highest trained singers can sometimes struggle with, In Breathing for Singers we will learn about the how the respiration system affects the sound and overall health of the voice, understand how to gain control of the diaphragm and core muscles for efficient breath control and clarity of voice. Learn valuable muscle memory building exercises to ensure your new breathing style really sticks. We will work with the bodies natural movements to get the most out of our voice in this very practical and hands on session. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat if you have one (we will be doing floor work)

Understanding the Vocal Mechanism & Vocal Safety

It really is essential for all singers to understand their instrument, we will learn about the anatomy of the singing voice and how we can use our knowledge to help us to get the very best out of our singing voice. We will learn about how to keep the voice safe and healthy, what vocal abuse is, How to limit/prevent damage, as well as learn the very best warm up and technical exercises and how to execute them in order to keep the voice safe and developing in a healthy manner. Learn the warning signs of a tired/damaged voice and how SOS Emergency Relaxing and Recovery exercises and routines can help return your voice to a happier more comfortable place after a heavy singing session. This workshop is designed to give you the knowledge to help you to keep your voice for your career not just the next set.

Voice Building – Projection & Power

For those who have already attended the Breathing for Singers Course (where we would have done the fundamental preparations for this workshop) In Projection and Power we will look at the most effective and safe ways to build strength and depth of tone into the voice. The day will concentrate on essential techniques to allow anyone to build the voice with good cord closure, breath control, supporting/anchoring and various other techniques. We will approach the session with attention to vocal safety and looking at what the voice is capable of and what stamina and strengthening exercises each individual may need in order to sustain their new found bigger voice.

Going Solo

For those who aren’t quite ready to get out there and gig yet, but need help building their confidence and would like feedback about their performance. Join us in small groups to learn about building your voice and confidence to suit your aspirations. We’ll look at how to begin to conquer those nerves and develop key coping and performance techniques to make taking that next step a little bit easier in the Performance Anxiety section of our day. We will ask you to perform for us on the day so please bring a song you have prepared in advance to get the most out of the session.

Build a 'Better' Voice

Its always the first thing people ask me, how do i get a better voice? Build a Better Voice, will be an in depth look into how to build the voice you want, with a focus on building a routine and setting goals to get the results you’re after. We will look at preparing for singing, warming up and cooling down, singing within your range and how it will increase  your strength and vocal stamina. Most importantly we will look at how to keep your voice safe and the all important vocal recovery after illness or injury. It’s a look at mindset, development and training for those who want more from their voice!
