Hello - just signed up to the Members Forum.  I have been singing at local folk clubs for approx. 14 years and at the beginning felt completely wracked with nerves and sang very quietly.  After having singing lessons more recently, the changes have been really noticeable and the feedback from fellow folkies has been very positive.  Singing is such a great way of expressing yourself and if others share in that enjoyment then the pleasure just grows. There is so much to learn.

Hi Viv,

Great to hear from you! If you haven't done so already have a look around the forum, there might be something of interest here for you, feel free to start your own topic if you have something you think should be talked about 🙂

I'm Christina and I am 30 years old, been singing my whole life, was in Hampshire children's and youth choir and national youth music theatre. 2004, I had a car accident followed by a 13 week coma and now can't sing as well, but I love singing and have regular singing lessons with Sally. I remember all the 'ins and outs' of vocal techniques, I can still pitch etc, know how to read music still and am open to any discussions about singing.

Hi Christina,  we met briefly at an evening that Sally arranged in Portsmouth a while back.  I thought you sounded great and when I heard what you had been through was impressed by your courage. We should all have goals and enjoy trying to reach them.  See you around.
